My name is Bhutam Mutyalu. I was born on 10 June 1971 in Thirumalagiri Village, Nampally Mandal, Nalgonda District, Telangana State. My father is Bhutam Mallaiah and Mother is Bhutam Mallamma who really supported and sacrificed all the pleasures for my better future. My father worked as a Rikshaw puller and my mother used to work in all the house for our family daily bread. From first class to third class I studied in my own village. From fourth class to intermediate I studied in Devarkonda, Degree in Hyderabad at New Government Degree College, Khairathabad, Chinthal Basthy, Hyderabad, B.Ed in Gokul College of Education in Nalgonda and PG – M.A Telugu (Literature) in Dr. Br. Ambedkar Open University, Nalgonda. During my education I have under gone so many trails, tribulations and difficulties. I used to drive Rikshaw, some times daily labour at the period of SSC, Intermediate, Degree and summer holidays worked in hotel for my education and daily expenses. I really led a very miserable life in my youth. In spite of my hard work I got government job. At present I am working as a teacher in Nalgonda.
In my life there was a important person who really supported and encouraged to reach up to this honourable position. I whole heartedly thank him for his sincere encouragement. He is none other than Vemula Yellaiah. I was mostly influenced by remarkable poets like Gurajada Apparao, Devarakonda Balagangadhar Tilak, Kalogi Narayana Rao, C. Narayanareddy, Jashuva, Boyi Bheemanna, Kokalanuri Inak and Boya Jangaiah and other Telugu and International writers dalit writers Their writings, articles and great works, Telangana struggles also influenced me a lot and I was inspired to write stories, novels, articles, poems and dramas. I really like Kalekuri Prasad’s “Gosa” and “Pidikedu Atmagouravam”.
I have written totally twelve books. Four novels, (Sura, Purudu, Iguram, Mogali) three stories (Begari Kathalu, Bugada Kathalu, Dagdham Kathalu) Dugili Dalit Poems, Drama (Kulatakam) Auto biography (Niyathi) Telangana Language Dictionary (Mandalikam – Kulavruthi Padakosham) and History of Mala Community Sub caste Mala (Malavari Charitra) which so much popular in the society.
“Dugili” the poem speaks about the life style of “Dalit” people, their customs, language and rules. The Gonthu (a call) and Barre poems are translated into English language. In 2004 I wrote the first novel “Sura” it speaks about the trails trouble which the “Dalits” faced in their life for two decades. The story is very excellent and insightful for the next generations. The introduction of parent’s life struggle and their sufferings paves the ways for the better future to their children. The children really taken up by their parents sufferings and they do hard work to reach their goal.
Kakatiya University introduced “Sura” and Sidhi novels in a academic book as a lessons. Sura novels main intention and purpose to wipe away the superstitions and educate the poor people.
In 2007, I wrote “Purudu” novel. It is about customs and rituals of SC (Mala) People. In 2010 I wrote “Begari” stories, which mostly speaks about the “Dalit” minority. In this story we can know how a poor Muslim women faced problem in her life in this society.
In 2012, the “Iguram” novel was written and it showed remarkable influence on society.
In 2013, “Mandalikam”, Telangana language dictionary was also written. In 2014, “Bugada” stories are written. It is about the story of “Dalits”. Through this stories I explained “Dalit” women’s problem, trails and troubles that they are really facing in this society.
In 2015, I wrote “my autography” and names as “Niyathi”.
Potti Sriramulu University was considered my works as worth full and felicitated me very respectfully in Hyderabad.
In 2003, I was awarded with the title The Best Teacher by our government. Wherever the competitions held with regarding to essay writings, I used to participate and I received a award for my essay “Palagummi Padmaraju Anusarinchadu”.
My ambition is to continue to write novels, poems, stories and dramas to enlighten the people till my last breath. I have been writing all these works since 20 years, and I received Telangana award for my great service in literature.
